Office Coordinator

Compensation: $20 - $22 per hour
Hours Per Week: 25 - 30 M-F
Location: Manito Park, Spokane WA
Start Date: ASAP

The Company:  The Friends of Manito is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the beauty of Manito Park.  We raise funds for park maintenance and improvement and host annual events as well as educational programs to inspire others to engage with the natural world. Our office is located directly in Manito Park with a beautiful view of the gardens!

The Position:  We are seeking a part-time Office Coordinator. This person will report to the Board of Directors and provide essential administrative support to ensure that the organization remains responsive and efficient in its operations. The position will facilitate effective communication with members, donors, volunteers, Spokane Parks and Rec and the general public.

Requirements:  

  • Excellent public relations skills

  • Database knowledge and experience 

  • Proficient in Excel/Google Docs/Word

  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Online  and Little Green Light preferred

  • Comfortable with working alone and self-motivated

  • Office is located up a flight of stairs

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure annual membership renewal process is carried out in a timely and efficient manner

  • Manage daily office operations, including correspondence and record keeping

  • Handle accounts payable and receivable in QuickBooks and work closely with the contract bookkeeper to ensure accurate accounting of financial transactions

  • Manage members and donors using Little Green Light management database

  • Work with our marketing firm to ensure timely distribution of member newsletter.  Manage solicitation of content and assist with layout, editing and proofreading.

  • Attend monthly Board meetings (second  Monday of each month at 6:00 pm) and periodic TFM events in the evenings or weekends.

  • Work closely with the plant sale manager on logistics and preparation for two annual plant sales (June and August) and print price stickers for plants using the Garden Ware program.

  • Obtain necessary permits and track reservations for events

  • Point of contact for Board members, volunteers, park staff and donors
