Endowment Fund

Responding to the need to fund ongoing park operations and maintenance, The Friends of Manito has established The Friends of Manito Endowment Fund at the Innovia Foundation. Over time the endowment will fund a significant portion of the annual operating costs of Manito Park, ensuring that it remains a regional asset and local treasure for generations to come.

Because of its size and features, Manito is an expensive park to maintain. Manito uses 38% of the total annual operating budget for all of Spokane’s 80+ parks (excluding golf courses and Riverfront, which generate income.) Taxes alone are not enough to cover the costs of caring for Manito’s extensive gardens, playgrounds and walking trails. The Friends of Manito Fund provides annual support for park maintenance, operations, and programs.
